Remembering Mary and Evan Appelman

Mary Appelman, with the assistance of her husband Evan, founded and was chairperson from 1982 to 2007 of the America-Israel Council for Israeli-Palestinian Peace (AICIPP). The group focused “American attention on the existence in Israel of a peace movement that advocates negotiations with the PLO and mutual recognition between Israel and a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza.” Gush Shalom spokesperson Adam Keller reflects on his long working relationship with Mary.
